At StuckOnBowling.com, our custom bowling balls are available in a wide range of colors and designs to match your distinct personality. Our bowling balls are made from an assortment of high-quality materials, including plastic, reactive resin and urethane. We also feature some of the most technologically advanced custom bowling ball models, complete with cover stock and weight block technology. You’ll even find a wide line of kids bowling balls that are specifically designed for small hands.

There are three major types of bowling balls: the ten-pin, the five-pin and the candlepin; each one has a distinct look, weight and feel. The ten-pin bowling ball is the most common, having three finger holes drilled into it for the classic bowling technique. The five-pin bowling ball, on the other hand, has no holes and weighs a lot less, allowing the player to palm the ball. Last, but not least, is the candlepin, which is the lightest. Each bowling ball is designed for a different type of bowling.

Anatomy of the Bowling Ball

There are many advantages that come with using a custom bowling ball, starting with the fact that you will be able to decide all of its features; custom bowling balls are made considering the weight, cover stock and weight block reaction tendencies, type of finger holes to be drilled, and even sometimes, the color. By playing with the same bowling ball, you will notice that your skills will steadily improve and you are getting more consistent scores.

The core constitutes an essential element of any custom bowling ball, allowing it to maintain its stability while it rolls down the lane. Both the core and the finger holes are responsible for the way the bowling ball works, helping the player achieve their objectives: more hook, improved breakpoint reaction, and get a consistent score. As for the finger holes, these are not put randomly but chosen according to the dynamics of the core, and your individual bowling technique; they are a crucial element, as they impact the way the ball rolls down the lane. The custom bowling ball is completed by the cover stock, which is made from a high density material, as well as the weight block, which gives the reaction potential of the bowling ball.

Just For Fun: If your bowling with family and friends try this, Team Up in twos, and bowl one game together. The first Team member rows the first ball and the second Team member rows the second ball. If a strike is bowled, then the second Team member starts the next frame. If the second Team member leaves any pins, the first  Team member will try to pick up the spare. Continue the rotation for the whole game. The next game you can switch Team members to equalize the scoring or use a handicap system. This will help your spare game, and work well as a group mixer.
